Today was hike day! We started out exploring the bog. This was really cool because I had never seen one quite this large before. We then went to Black Bear Mountain with the Master's teachers and it really could not have been a more perfect day. It was a long trek up a trail that led us to the lower peak of black bear mountain. Once we got to the top, I was so proud of myself because I had never done anything like it before - nor have I seen anything like it before either! It was simply amazing. We ate lunch and then a couple of us continued on to the high peak of the mountain. Again, just a breathtaking view. I felt like I was on top of the world. Once we started back down, I had realized that going up was my favorite part.
Once we reached the bottom, a couple of ha drive into the town of Inlet to get some ice cream - thanks to my professor, Beth and her husband Karl! They truly were amazing this week and I have learned so much and have experienced so much from them. From kayaking 5 miles to even going into the water up to my shins - hey, baby steps!
At the end of the night we went to a small concert at the church and saw a band play called String Bee. It was a really neat one hour show. My favorite song was a Scottish one that one of the members of the bands daughters showed them. It was a great way to end the night. OH YEAH - we also had another awesome fire!
I am also so glad I got to spend this time with three amazing girls. Kayla, Amanda, and Meghan. I had taken a class with Meghan and Amanda before, but we had never been together this long before. And we had never met Kayla before, but she fit right in with us and we is a really great person. We all got along so well that we slept in the same room with the two bunk beds and left two other full rooms empty. I can truly say that this friendship between us four will last forever.
I think this trip/class has really given myself the opportunity to explore and have more fun outdoors.
Thanks so much Beth and Karl! You ROCK! :)
Much love always! It was a great week.
